Course Descriptions

6th Grade - Semester Required

This course offers the opportunity for students to actively participate in a variety of physical activities. This class serves to introduce and stress the importance of being physically fit as a lifetime goal.

 

7th Grade - Semester Required

This course is designed to encourage and promote the development of physical fitness and wellness in our youth through a variety of sports and fitness-related activities.

 

8th Grade - Currently there is no Physical Education for 8th graders

Curriculum

The curriculum includes action oriented learning experiences in the team, dual, and individual activities. A strong emphasis is placed upon physical fitness (practiced daily), as well as the knowledge and skill needed to stay fit throughout a lifetime. Socialization experiences such as leadership, competition, successes and failure, appreciation of rules, respect for others, democracy, and the results of effort and achievement are an integral part of the Physical Education curriculum.
