Students with Chronic Conditions

  1. At the beginning of the semester students and parents are asked to complete an information sheet. One of the sections has a place for the students medical information and any physical limitations.
  2. If a student is on an inhaler (or other medically related equipment such as knee brace), it is their responsibility to bring it with them to class and use them in an appropriate manor prior to any strenuous physical activity. If a student does not bring their inhalers or other medical equipment , they will not be forced to participate but the student will be marked down for forgetting their equipment.
  3. Asthma is a self-limiting medical condition. If a student informs the teacher that he/she is having problems the students grade will not be affected in the situation.
  4. If a student often excuses himself/herself from the activities the teacher will contact the parent to see what can be done.
